In the village of Norbello, in the province of Oristano, something quite rare happens: comics break out of the books and take to the streets. The Comics Park is just that—an open-air trail where you encounter murals, installations, and characters; a colorful, accessible, and even somewhat unexpected place in such a quiet village.
A unique experience in the regional panorama
What makes this project truly unique in Sardinia is its integration within the town: it is a park in a residential area, free and accessible to all (only the adjacent museum requires admission). We arrive early in the morning, finding it an extremely peaceful place. The large mural and the Peanuts reproductions scattered across the lawns welcome us into an environment where fantasy reigns supreme.
The paths are lined with numerous panels dedicated to comics… it is here that we can learn about their history and the peculiarities of national traditions—from comics to band dessinées to manga.
Other posters are entirely dedicated to specific stories, authors, and characters, with a particular focus on the Italian scene.
The park is flanked by the MIDI Museum (Museum of Image and Interactive Design), creating a coherent itinerary that combines artistic and educational dimensions. Inside the museum, you’ll find a collection of panels and works, with a particular focus on the Sardinian comics tradition.
