The Romanesque is a medieval artistic and architectural movement, widespread between the tenth and thirteenth centuries in Europe.
In Sardinia there are several monuments of that era; the most famous architectural works are churches and cathedrals, such as the Basilica of San Gavino in Porto Torres, the Basilica of Saccargia in Codrongianos, the Basilica of San Simplicio in Olbia and the Cathedral of Sant’Antioco di Bisarcio in Ozieri.
