On today’s trip we go a few kilometers from Oniferi, in the heart of Barbagia, to discover the necropolis of Sas Concas. Probably this is one of the most fascinating archaeological sites in central Sardinia!
It is an ancient funerary complex that dates back to the Neolithic; here we find numerous hypogeal tombs dug into the rock, which in Sardinia are commonly called Domus de Janas.

Route to Sas Concas

The Necropolis is located right next to the road that leads from Abbasanta to Nuoro, nestled on a gentle hillside. Exiting at the junction for Oniferi, we find parking in a small clearing. Here we see a small sign “Sas Concas”.
We pass a small gate and, through a path in the greenery, you reach the archaeological area.
Access is free and there are no information or tourist panels or even refreshment areas.
